The Delta 22-450 Industrial DC-580 20 inch planer can handle stock up to 8-5/8 inch thick. Up front controls such as the push button on/off switch and operating levers make for convenient operation. An engage/disengage lever allows the feed rollers to be disengaged instantly. The infeed rollers are a sectional, serrated design for better gripping and the outfeed rollers are polyurethane to prevent damage to the machined surface. A second lever is used to adjust the lower bed rollers for planing of rough stock. Two feed rates of 20 and 30 ft. per minute allow user to match the speed to the project. The three-knife cutterhead rotates at 5000 RPM providing 15000 cuts per minute. Hinged side panels allow easy access to the drive pulleys for quick changing of the feed rate. A large handwheel with a locking knob raises and lowers the massive 22 inch x 28 inch table. The built-in dust chute has a six-inch opening for attachment to a dust collector.
