The Milwaukee 48-01-9712 is an Ice Hardened™ 9-Inch, 18 TPI Torch® SAWZALL® blade. Ice Edge™ blades are processed with a patent pending cryogenic heat treatment so they can handle the toughest alloy steel materials. Unlike surface coatings that wear away, cryogenics harden to the core by minimizing soft metal (austenite) and creating more hard metal (martensite). The result is a product that is more consistently hard throughout. These blades are made from Matrix II bi-metal material with 8% cobalt. The bi-metal design allows for faster cutting, longer life blades that can bend without shattering.
